Indonesia-Netherlands Legal Update (INLU) 2022: Panel on Blue Environmental Law and Justice

As part of the series of INLU 2022, this Indonesia Ocean Justice Initiative (IOJI)-led panel will pay a closer attention to the role of environmental law in the context of ocean or blue justice.

With persisting issues of climate change, maritime security, and human rights abuses within the ocean landscape, the role of environmental law has become more prevalent. Responding to these issues requires reimagining the concept of environmental law that adheres to the concept of strong sustainability, supported by ample democratic space, good governance, and effective rule of law.
