What We do

The Indonesia Ocean Justice Initiative (IOJI) is dedicated to promoting sustainable and equitable ocean governance, ensuring that marine resources are protected and fairly shared for the benefit of both present and future generations. This goal is pursued through research-based policy advocacy, community empowerment, strategic legal action, and alliance building. Our focus spans four key areas: maritime security, marine and coastal protection, the ocean-climate nexus, and human rights at sea. As a think tank and policy advocacy group, we work with governments, academia, and civil societies to influence policy and catalyze change.
