Andreas Aditya Salim, S.H., LL.M.

Program Director

Andreas is the Program Director for Maritime Security and Access to Justice at the Indonesia Ocean Justice Initiative. He specializes in the Law of the Sea and has been writing and speaking in national and international forums among others: BBNJ symposium, IISS Shangri-La Dialogue, and Side Event of the UNFCCC COP-28.

Before his time at the Indonesia Ocean Justice Initiative, he served as a legal counsel for the Presidential Task Force to Combat Illegal Fishing established by the President of the Republic of Indonesia (2014-2019) and legal counsel for the Indonesia REDD+ Agency.

Andreas earned his bachelor degree in Law from the Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia (2014) and Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from the University of California, Berkeley with a specialization in Environmental Law (2022). He is also an alumnus of the Rhodes Academy of Oceans Law and Policy (2016) and the United Nations-Nippon Foundation Fellowship Program (2019).
