Harimuddin is an alumnus of FH-UGM. Since 2000 he has been a Lawyer. At the end of the SBY-Jusuf Kalla administration, Harimuddin worked at the office of the Special Staff of the President, as Assistant to the President’s Special Staff for Legal Affairs. At this time, he was involved and became a member of the Assistant Team in the Team for Fact Finding and Legal Process Verification of the Chandra Hamzah and Bibit S. Rianto Cases or often called TEAM 8.

During the SBY-Budiyono administration, Harimuddin was still Assistant to the President’s Special Staff for Human Rights Law and the Eradication of KKN, then he was active in the Legal Mafia Eradication Task Force and the Institutional Preparation Task Force (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation). Subsequently, Harimuddin was appointed Assistant Head of the Presidential Work Unit for Development Supervision and Control (UKP4).
During the Jokowi-Yusuf Kalla administration, Harimuddin joined the IUUF Prevention and Eradication Task Force and the KKP Ex-Foreign Vessel Analysis and Evaluation Team as well as the Illegal Fishing Eradication Task Force (Satgas 115). His last position in Task Force 115 was as a member of the Special Staff.
His areas of expertise and legal expertise deal with handling issues related to the utilization and management of the environment, forestry, mining, plantations, maritime affairs and fisheries, coastal areas and islands, protection and empowerment of local/indigenous communities and small fishermen.
